Imagine this scenario: It’s the night before your wedding day, the biggest event of your life, the one you have planned an entire year for. Instead of basking in joyful anticipation at your rehearsal dinner, your entire wedding party is anxiously glued to their phones. The collective anxiety is palatable, each person is desperately scanning their news feed for information. The unthinkable has happened. A massive wildfire has started to develop and every projection has your wedding venue in the middle of its insatiable path.

This scenario was unfortunately not a “what if” scenario for Markie. This was real life, her wedding venue was about to literally catch on fire. Her entire year’s work planning every last detail was now at the mercy of an unpredictable natural disaster. There was no contingency plan for the challenge she now faced.

When Markie received word from the venue that her wedding was canceled due to fire danger, she had two choices, postpone or try and find an alternative venue with less than 24 hours notice. She decided that her wedding was happening no matter what, so with the help of her bridesmaids she pulled off an absolute miracle. With a flurry of phone calls bridesmaids helped Markie book a new wedding venue and new wedding vendors.

One of those frantic phone calls was answered by none other than the Veil Of Grace Bridal Beauty Team. Originally not scheduled to provide hair and makeup services for Markie’s wedding, that all changed when we heard her tragic story. Our VOG Bridal manager Sydney acted quickly to assemble available makeup artists and hairstylists to help. Markie so desperately need to feel like the bride she imagined. The best version of herself; the ethereal beauty she dreamt walking down the aisle to the love of her life.

As you can tell from the photos below, what began as a devastating tragedy was transformed into a beautiful celebration. No fire was going to keep these two from committing to each other on this day. We are so honored to be able to help Markie feel special in the midst of such a calamitous series of events.
