Traditional Vietnamese Wedding Vows in Carlsbad

Traditional Vietnamese Wedding Vows in Carlsbad

My Linh’s traditional Vietnamese wedding clothes definitely caught my attention as I was downloading her wedding album.  It got me thinking, what is the history behind these elaborate outfits.  So thanks to Wikipedia I found out the bride’s outfit is called a Áo dài and the groom’s outfit is called a Áo gấm.  These intricately embroidered gowns are modeled after the royal outfits worn by the last imperial family of Veitnam, the Nguyễns.  So Vietnamese couples can trace this wedding day tradition back to the early 1800s.

I absolutely love the incorporation of traditional cultural elements in the wedding ceremony.  When you have been reviewing wedding photos for the better part of ten years, a little variety is always welcomed!  I hope you enjoy these beautiful moments between My Linh and her husband.  For more information on the Veil Of Grace Bridal Beauty Team, including service pricing and wedding date availability, please fill out our contact form by clicking the “Book Your Wedding” button below.  We look forward to being an important part of your special day!
