Second Chance at Love on JDate

Second Chance at Love on JDate

Dana wasn’t just given a second chance at love, she took action and went online to find it!  No matter how old you are, you’re never too old to give up on finding a happy loving relationship.  Dana unfortunately lost her spouse after a long marriage; so this experience was bittersweet to say the least.  I was so honored to be apart of her second chapter, beautifying her for her lovely wedding.  I am so excited to share Dana’s story in her own words below.

“My husband and I met because of our children. Joel’s son and daughter and my daughter each felt we had been alone way too long. Each of the children took us by hand and convinced us to try online dating. The site which they felt would work for each of us independently was ” J Date”/ I was a bit unsure but felt it was worth a try. After all, that is how my daughter and her husband met. Joel and I met for a lunch date and I felt he truly wasn’t interested in me. We didn’t contact each other and I dropped off of the dating site.. About a year and a half later, I felt it was time to try again. Joel responded to my profile and we met again. We called this outing second “First Date.” From that point forward we didn’t see anyone else and our lives are now complete.

Joel had told me that he would never marry again. I loved being married but I loved Joel even more. Almost four years ago we decided to purchase a home together and live as a couple. Life was good but I always knew if he asked me to be his wife, I would give him an immediate “YES!” New Year’s Eve a year ago we were having dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and he looked across the table and said to me, “You know we have been living as husband and wife.” I agreed, not knowing where this was going and the he said to me, “We should get married!” With tears in my eyes and joy in my heart it indeed was an immediate “Yes!” The rest is history.

My favorite part of my wedding day with Samantha from Veil Of Grace was the tender care she gave me on the day of my wedding. I will long remember her care and the way she listened to what I had as a vision for myself.  I was fortunate enough to have Erin of White Fig Designs recommend Samantha at Veil Of Grace for my hair and makeup.

The most memorable part of our wedding day, was standing under the Chuppa, listening to our Rabbi (who happens to be a lifelong friend) and having him pronounce the two of us as husband and wife.  I would absolutely recommend all future brides to contact Veil Of Grace. The care and understanding they provided to me, made me so sure that I looked the way I had envisioned.”

  • I absolutely love the incorporation of Indian traditions in a modern wedding.  The henna art on the bride and bridal party adds a unique sentiment to family and heritage.  Did you know henna or “Mehndi” is a paste derived from the henna l...

  • Ah the chignon, the classical french bun at the nape of the neck.  No not a pastry, but that does sound good though!  Yum, a warm pastry and a cup of coffee with mostly cream.  I digress, this popular bridal updo is one of the most versatile hairstyl...
